Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
As with all events that require lots of organizing
and
coordination; stumps-hurdles-and set backs are to be expected. The
Mid-Atlantic Bicyculture Gathering is no exception. First and foremost
we apologize for any disappointments.
The lack of man
power has made it nearly impossible to cover all
the events originally scheduled for this weekend. So please note, we've
had no choice but to cancel the Gold-sprints and the "Long
shot"
(the distance race, originally scheduled for Sunday morning)
automatically turning the event from a "best of 7 to a best of 5"
races.
Other cancellations include rodeo events like the polo
tournament, which besides receiving little feedback on, the facilitator
was not going
to be able to get in to town for the event altogether. We
had also announced jousting and chariot racing... these were to be
coordinated by guests that had offered to do so... BUT, never fallowed
up on there offer to do so. These side show events have been canceled.
Other changes are a little less major, like some of the
entertainment and artists to be featured in Friday nights after party.
In this case, we were able to find some last minute replacements
and
we will still be able to dance, rock out and party to some good
music
We've revised the three day itinerary (please check the individual day,
25th, 26th & 27th
and some of these LAST minute changes actually benefit the
gathering; time restraint-exhausting our man power- and the
competitive
goal; its actually become a little easier and realistic to have a grand
prize winner at the end of the weekend.
Once again we apologize for informing you, the participants, last
minute. We did so only after attempting to find solutions and after
trying to salvage events that might otherwise would have been
amazing
to both participate and witness.

Mission
Statement
On
July 25th, 26th, and 27th, the Baltimore bicycle community welcomes you
to the Mid-Atlantic Bicyculture Gathering...the first event of its
kind, in hopes of spotlighting the bicycle as more than just a means of
alternative transportation but as an all out way of life, thought, and
identity. In promoting bicycle awareness, the 3-day gathering will host
an array of events ranging from races, bike films, and group rides to
art, music, workshops and, of course, parties!
